01 / THE MAC APP
The app does not collect photos
Siftroom requires no account, includes no ads or third-party analytics SDKs, and does not upload photos, thumbnails, EXIF, ratings, adjustments or usage records to our servers.
Local processing
- Decoding, histograms, similarity grouping, faces and eyes, sharpness analysis, AI denoising and photo processing run on your Mac. The denoising model is bundled with the app. Photos are not uploaded for inference.
- Ratings, color labels, presets and non-destructive edits are stored in local application data. When XMP sync is enabled, the corresponding sidecars are also written.
- Local filter packs contain declarative parameters and assets. Siftroom does not execute scripts, native plug-ins, WebAssembly or third-party machine learning models from packs.
- Imports and backups write only to folders you choose. Reports, project indexes, import history and metadata templates stay local. Importing does not delete or format sources.
- Exports and client PDFs are written only to your chosen folders. You decide whether to share them.
System permissions
When you choose photos, folders or packs, macOS grants access to those locations. Siftroom uses that access only for user-initiated browsing, analysis, importing, review, moving files to Trash and export.
Optional maps and location
Map display, place search and address lookup use Apple's mapping and geocoding services only when you use those features. Search text or coordinates may be sent to Apple. Your Mac's current location comes from macOS Location Services and requires permission. Apple's privacy policies apply to those services. Siftroom does not send those requests to our servers. Place names and coordinates may be saved locally and written to exported GPS metadata when you choose. You can disable location writing or manage authorization in System Settings. Culling, importing and denoising do not require location access.
02 / THE WEBSITE
No tracking analytics on the website
siftroom.com uses no advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, profiling, third-party analytics scripts or social pixels. Static resources are served from Siftroom's own server.
Standard security and diagnostic access logs may include time, request path, response status, browser type and source IP. Logs are not used for advertising or profiling.
03 / SUPPORT REQUESTS
Information only when you ask for help
When you submit the support form, we process the name, contact email, subject and question you provide, and generate a ticket number. Do not send original photos, identity documents, passwords, payment details or other unnecessary sensitive data.
Our server uses its configured email service to send requests to the Siftroom support inbox. The provider processes the information as needed to deliver email. Messages are used only for support notifications and replies, not marketing. Information is not sold or rented.
04 / RETENTION
Keep it only as long as needed
- Support requests: up to 90 days, unless longer retention is needed to continue handling the same issue or meet legal obligations.
- Web access logs: scheduled for rotation and deletion within 30 days.
- Local app data: under your control. Remove the relevant Application Support or XMP files to delete it.
05 / YOUR CHOICES
Access, correction and deletion
Request access, correction or deletion through Support. We may ask you to confirm the ticket number from the original contact address to avoid changing someone else's records.
You can stop using the app or website at any time. Photo processing does not depend on a cloud account.
06 / SECURITY
Encrypted transport and limited access
The website uses HTTPS. The support endpoint limits request size and rate; records live in a restricted server directory. No system guarantees absolute security. If an incident could affect your security, we will act as required by applicable law.
07 / CHANGES
Policy changes
We may update this policy as features or legal requirements change. The effective date appears on this page, with reasonable notice of significant changes.
